When you access the GiveCircle Dashboard, you will see statistics on how your lottery is performing. This articles outlines how the figures in these statistics are calculated.
Total lottery supporters
How the figure is calculated
The total number of people who have signed up to the lottery by completing a sign up form on one of your lottery pages.
Minus
The total number of these people who have actively opted out of the lottery, for example, by unsubscribing in the online portal.
Considerations with this figure
In some circumstances, a supporter may no longer be actively playing the lottery but may not have actively opted out. For example, if a supporter is paying for their lottery entry by standing order and cancels their standing order without letting us know. In cases such as these, the supporter will still show in this figure.
Total tickets bought
How the figure is calculated
The total number of individual tickets that have been subscribed to in the lottery, by a supporter completing a sign up form on one of your lottery pages.
Minus
The total number of individual tickets that have been unsubscribed from, by a supporter actively opting out from their subscription. For example, if a supporter is subscribed to the lottery for two tickets each week and unsubscribes via the online portal, then both tickets will be removed from this figure.
Considerations with this figure
The majority of supporters are signed up for one ticket each week, so this figure will likely closely align with the total lottery supporters figure.
In some circumstances, a supporter may no longer be actively playing the lottery but may not have actively opted out. For example, if a supporter is paying for their lottery entry by standing order and cancels their standing order without letting us know. In cases such as these, the supporter's ticket(s) will still show in this figure.
Supporter origin
How the figure is calculated
The figure in the centre of the pie chart is total lottery supporters, calculated as described above.
The pie chart shows the breakdown of where those supporters joined the lottery from. Those who have joined the lottery via GiveCircle managed pages will be categorised as GiveCircle Social Ads and shown in orange. Those who have joined the lottery via charity managed pages will be categorised as Charity Signups and shown in yellow.

Considerations with this figure
This figure just shows the total number of supporters who have joined the lottery, so doesn't monitor whether those supporters continue to play the lottery longer term.
Supporter trends
How the figure is calculated
The total number of people who have signed up to the lottery by completing a sign up form on one of your lottery pages are shown as subscribed.
The total number of these people who have actively opted out of the lottery, for example, by unsubscribing in the online portal, are shown as unsubscribed.
Considerations with this figure
Test entries may show in both the subscribed and unsubscribed columns, as our system tests if a supporter can successfully subscribe to the lottery and then immediately unsubscribes them.
